Description:

  • summary: Technical data refer to information relevant for advanced characterization of sea-state climate. They are available from the shore to 50 km offshore, western coast of France, with a resolution ranging between 9 km offshore to 200 m near the coast and shallow areas. If the title mentions a specific season ( Spring (March to May), Summer (June to August), Fall (September to November) or Winter (December to January) ) then the data refer to season-specific values. Otherwise, the analysis has been performed over the entire length of the time series (19 years). The tables available are meant to be downloaded and used for appropriate graphical representation, or specific end-user applications.
  • history: All the information comes from the processing of Homere database (Boudière et al. 2013) delivered by Ifremer (Institut Français de Recherche pour l'Exploitation de la Mer/French Research Institute for Exploitation of the Sea). Homere is a 19-year (1994-2012) sea-state hindcast (Boudière et al. 2013) with hourly outputs and spatial resolution ranging from 9 km offshore to about 200 m near the coast and shallow areas. This database was identified by Dubranna et al. 2015 as the most appropriate for the production of MRE resource information along the western coast of France at relevant time and spatial scales. The information produced during IREMARE project covers the western coast of France (Atlantic, English Channel and North Sea) and can be used for national down to local scale studies.
